These are the children of Noah.
Their names are Shem, Ham, and Japheth.
They had children after the big flood.
Japheth had sons named Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.
Gomer had sons named Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.
Javan had sons named Elishah, Tarshish, Kittim, and Dodanim.
From these families the islands of the peoples were made, each with its own language and people.
Ham had sons named Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
Cush had sons named Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, and Sabteca.
Raamah had sons named Sheba and Dedan.
Cush became the father of Nimrod, who became strong on the earth.
He was a strong hunter before God; people say, "Like Nimrod a strong hunter before God."
His first cities were Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh in the land of Shinar.
He left that land for Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, and Calah.
He also built Resen between Nineveh and Calah; this is the great city.
Mizraim was the father of Ludim, Anamim, Lehabim, Naphtuhim, Pathrusim, Casluhim, and Caphtorim.
Casluhim is where the Philistines came from.
Canaan was the father of Sidon his first son and Heth, the Jebusite, the Amorite, the Girgashite, the Hivite, the Arkite, the Sinite, the Arvadite, the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.
Later, the families of the Canaanite spread into many places.
The land of the Canaanites went from Sidon toward Gerar and Gaza, and toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, Zeboiim, and Lasha.
These are the sons of Ham, each with his own family, language, land, and people.
Shem was the father of all the children of Eber; he was the older brother of Japheth, and he also had children.
Shem had sons named Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, and Aram.
Aram had sons named Uz, Hul, Gether, and Mash.
Arpachshad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah was the father of Eber.
Eber had two sons.
The name of one was Peleg because in his days the earth was divided.
The name of the other was Joktan.
Joktan had sons named Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, and Jerah.
He also had sons named Hadoram, Uzal, and Diklah.
He also had sons named Obal, Abimael, and Sheba.
He also had sons named Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab.
All these were the sons of Joktan.
They lived from Mesha toward Sephar, the mountain of the east.
These are the sons of Shem, each with his own family, language, land, and people.
These are the families of the children of Noah, by their groups and their nations.
From them the nations of the earth were split after the flood.
