God visited Sarah like he had said.
God did to Sarah what he had spoken.
Sarah became pregnant and had Abraham a son when he was old, at the time God had told him.
Abraham named his new son Isaac.
Abraham did the thing God told him to do to his son Isaac when he was eight days old.
Abraham was one hundred years old when Isaac was born.
Sarah said, God has made me laugh; everyone who hears will laugh with me.
She said, Who could tell Abraham that I would feed a child? I have given him a son when I am old.
The child grew and stopped taking his mother's milk; Abraham made a big party on that day.
Sarah saw Hagar's son, whom she had given to Abraham, making fun.
So she said to Abraham, Send away this servant and her son, because that son must not share with my son Isaac.
This thing made Abraham very sad because of his son.
God said to Abraham, Do not be sad about the boy and the servant; do what Sarah tells you; the people from you will be called by Isaac.
But I will also make the servant's son a nation, because he is your child.
Abraham got up early, took bread and a bottle of water, gave them to Hagar, put them on her shoulder, gave her the child, and sent her away; she left and walked in the desert near Beer-sheba.
The water was gone, and she put the child under a bush.
She went and sat down not far from him, as if at the length of a bow; she said, I do not want to see my child die.
She sat there, raised her voice, and cried.
God heard the boy's voice, and the angel of God called to Hagar from the sky and said, What is wrong, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy's voice where he is.
Get up, take the boy, and hold him, for I will make him a great nation.
God opened her eyes and she saw a water hole; she went, filled the bottle, and gave the boy drink.
God was with the boy, and he grew; he lived in the desert and became good with a bow.
He lived in the desert of Paran, and his mother found him a wife from Egypt.
At that time Abimelech and Phicol the captain spoke to Abraham, saying, God is with you in all you do.
Now swear to me by God that you will not act badly with me, my son, or my son's son.
Do good to me and to the land where you have lived, like I did for you.
Abraham said, I will swear.
Abraham spoke strongly to Abimelech because Abimelech's workers had taken the water well by force.
Abimelech said, I do not know who did this; you did not tell me, and I did not hear about it until today.
Abraham took sheep and cows and gave them to Abimelech; they made an agreement.
Abraham kept seven girl lambs from the flock separate.
Abimelech said to Abraham, Why have you kept these seven girl lambs by themselves?
Abraham said, Take these seven girl lambs from me; let them show that I dug this well.
So he called that place Beer-sheba because they both promised there.
They made an agreement at Beer-sheba; then Abimelech and Phicol the captain went back to the land of the Philistines.
Abraham planted a tree at Beer-sheba and said the name of God, the Everlasting God.
Abraham lived in the land of the Philistines for many days.
