Abraham took another wife. Her name was Keturah.
She had six sons: Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah.
Jokshan had two sons, Sheba and Dedan.
Dedan had three sons: Asshurim, Letushim, and Leummim.
Midian had five sons: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah.
All these were Keturah's children.
Abraham gave everything he had to Isaac.
Abraham gave gifts to the sons of his other women.
He sent them away from Isaac while he was alive.
He sent them to the east country.
Abraham lived one hundred and seventy-five years.
Abraham died at a good old age.
He joined his people.
Isaac and Ishmael buried him in the cave of Machpelah.
The cave was in the field of Ephron son of Zohar the Hittite.
It is near Mamre.
This field Abraham bought from the Heth people.
Abraham and his wife Sarah were buried there.
After Abraham died, God blessed Isaac.
Isaac lived near Beer-lahai-roi.
Here are the children of Ishmael, Abraham's son.
Ishmael was born to Hagar the Egyptian, Sarah's handmaid.
Ishmael's sons were Nebaioth, Kedar, Adbeel, and Mibsam.
They also were Mishma, Dumah, and Massa.
And Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah.
These are the sons of Ishmael.
They had many villages and camps.
There were twelve chiefs for their groups.
Ishmael lived one hundred thirty-seven years.
He died and joined his people.
They lived from Havilah to Shur, near Egypt on the road to Assyria.
He stayed near his brothers.
Now these are the children of Isaac, Abraham's son.
Abraham had Isaac.
Isaac was forty years old when he married Rebekah.
She was the daughter of Bethuel from Paddan-aram and the sister of Laban.
Isaac prayed to the Lord for his wife because she could not have babies.
The Lord answered his prayer, and Rebekah became pregnant.
The babies moved and pushed inside her.
She said, "Why am I like this?"
She went to ask the Lord.
The Lord spoke to her.
When the time came, she had twins inside her.
The first baby came out red and hairy all over.
They named him Esau.
Next came his brother.
His hand held Esau's heel.
They called him Jacob.
Isaac was sixty years old when she had them.
The boys grew.
Esau liked to hunt.
He was a man in the fields.
Jacob was a quiet man.
He lived in tents.
Isaac loved Esau because he ate his meat.
Rebekah loved Jacob.
Jacob cooked soup.
Esau came from the field and was very tired.
Esau said to Jacob, "Give me that red soup, please.
I am tired."
That is why they called him Edom.
Jacob said, "Promise me first to give me your right as the older son."
Esau said, "I am about to die.
What good is that right to me now?"
Jacob said, "Make your promise first."
Esau promised to him.
He gave that right to Jacob.
Jacob gave Esau bread and lentil soup.
Esau ate and drank.
Then he left.
So Esau did not care for his right as the older son.
