She was the daughter of Ishmael and the sister of Nebaioth.

Adah gave Esau a son named Eliphaz.

Basemath gave Esau a son named Reuel.

Oholibamah gave Esau sons named Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

These sons were born in the land of Canaan.

Esau left Canaan with his wives, sons, daughters, all his people, his animals, and all he had.

He went to a land away from his brother Jacob.

Their things were too many for them to stay together.

The land for their journeys could not bear them because of their animals.

Esau lived on Mount Seir.

Esau is Edom.

These are the people of Esau the father of the Edomites who live on Mount Seir.

These are the names of Esau's sons.

Eliphaz was the son of Adah.

Reuel was the son of Basemath.

Eliphaz had sons named Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.

Eliphaz also had a concubine named Timna.

Timna gave Eliphaz a son named Amalek.

These are the sons of Adah.

The sons of Reuel were Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

These were the sons of Basemath.

Oholibamah had sons Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

These are the chiefs of Esau's sons.

Eliphaz was the first son of Esau.

The chiefs from Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz, Korah, Gatam, and Amalek.

These chiefs came from Eliphaz.

They are the sons of Adah.

The sons of Reuel had chiefs Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

Lotan's sister was Timna.

These are the children of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.

These are the children of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah.

Anah found hot springs in the desert when he fed his father Zibeon's donkeys.

These are the children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah the daughter of Anah.

These are the children of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.

These are the children of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.

These are the children of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

These are the chiefs of the Horites: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.

These chiefs came from the Horites.

They were the chiefs in the land of Seir.

These are the kings who ruled in Edom before any king ruled the children of Israel.

Bela son of Beor ruled in Edom.

His city was Dinhabah.

Bela died.

Jobab son of Zerah of Bozrah ruled after him.

Jobab died.

Husham from the land of the Temanites ruled after him.

Husham died.

Hadad son of Bedad ruled after him.

He fought Midian in the field of Moab.

His city was Avith.

Hadad died.

Samlah of Masrekah ruled after him.

Samlah died.

Shaul of Rehoboth by the River ruled after him.

Shaul died.

Baal-hanan son of Achbor ruled after him.

Baal-hanan son of Achbor died.

Hadar ruled after him.

His city was Pau.

His wife was Mehetabel.

She was the daughter of Matred.

Matred was the daughter of Me-zahab.

These are the names of the chiefs from Esau by their families and homes.

Chief Timna, Chief Alvah, Chief Jetheth, Chief Oholibamah, Chief Elah, Chief Pinon, Chief Kenaz, Chief Teman, Chief Mibzar, Chief Magdiel, Chief Iram.

These are the chiefs of Edom.

They lived in the land that was their possession.
