After this, the king of Egypt cup keeper and bread man did wrong to the king.
Pharaoh was angry with his two helpers, the cup keeper and the bread man.
He sent them to the big guard house prison where Joseph was.
The guard boss gave Joseph their care and Joseph took care of them.
They stayed in the jail for a time.
One night both men had a dream and each man had his own dream.
The cup keeper and the bread man, both in the jail, had dreams at the same time.
In the morning Joseph came to them and saw that they were sad.
He asked the king's jail friends, "Why are you sad today?"
They said, "We had a dream and no one can tell us what it means."
Joseph said, "Can God not give dream words? Please tell me your dreams."
The cup keeper told Joseph the dream.
He said, "I saw a vine in front of me and it had three branches.
The branches had buds and small flowers, and many grapes came out.
My king's cup was in my hand.
I took the grapes, pressed them in the cup, and gave the cup to the king."
Joseph said, "This dream means three days.
In three days the king will raise your head and bring you back to your work.
You will put the king's cup in his hand, just like before when you served him.
Please remember me when you are free, be kind to me, and tell the king about me.
Bring me out of this place because I was taken from the Hebrew land.
I have done nothing wrong to put me in this dark jail."
When the bread man heard that the dream words were true, he told Joseph his dream.
He said, "I saw three baskets of white bread on my head.
The top basket had baked food for the king.
Birds came and ate the food from the basket on my head."
Joseph said, "This dream also means three days.
In three days the king will lift your head and hang you on a tree.
Birds will eat your body."
On the third day it was the king's birthday, and he had a big meal with all his helpers.
He lifted up the cup keeper and the bread man among his servants.
He made the cup keeper the king's helper again, and the cup went into the king's hand.
But he hanged the bread man, as Joseph had said.
Still, the cup keeper did not remember Joseph and he forgot him.
