He told the man in charge of his house to fill the men's bags with food as much as they can carry.
He told him to put each man's money in the top of his bag.
He told him to put his silver cup in the top of the youngest boy's bag with his grain money.
The man did what Joseph said.
When the sun came up, the men left with their donkeys.
After they left the city and were not far away, Joseph told the man to go after them.
He told him to catch them and ask why they gave bad for good.
He told him to ask if that was not the cup his boss drinks from and uses to guess things.
He told him to say that they had done wrong.
The man caught them and said these words.
They answered with wonder and said it was not right to say such words.
They said they had brought back the money they found in their bags as they left Canaan.
They said they could not take silver or gold from their boss's house.
They said the man with the cup should die and they would be their boss's workers.
He said that was right and that the man with the cup would stay with him and the others would be free.
They quickly put each bag on the ground and opened them.
He looked in the bags starting with the oldest brother and ending with the youngest.
The cup was found in Benjamin's bag.
They tore their clothes, loaded their donkeys again, and went back to the city.
Judah and his brothers came to Joseph's house while he was there.
They fell down on the ground before him.
Joseph said, "What have you done?"
He said, "Do you not know that I can see things?"
Judah asked what they could say to Joseph.
He said that God had seen the bad thing his servants did.
He said they were Joseph's servants and that the man with the cup was his servant.
Joseph said the man with the cup would stay with him as his worker.
He told the others to go to their father in peace.
Judah came near and asked to speak to Joseph.
He asked Joseph not to be angry with him.
He said Joseph was like the king.
He said that Joseph had asked if they had a father or a brother.
He said they told him they had a father who was old and a little boy of his old age.
He said the boy's brother was dead and the boy was the only son of his mother.
He said that their father loved the boy.
He said Joseph had told them to bring the boy so he could see him.
He said they told Joseph the boy could not leave his father.
He said their father would die if the boy left.
He said Joseph told them that unless the youngest brother came, they could not see Joseph's face again.
He said they went back to their father and told him Joseph's words.
He said their father told them to go again to buy a little food.
He said they told their father they could not go without their youngest brother.
He said they could not see Joseph if the youngest brother was not with them.
He said their father reminded them that he had two sons.
He said that one son had gone away and he thought he was dead and had not seen him since.
He said if they took the little boy too and something bad happened, they would make their father very sad and he would die.
He said that when he came to his father without the boy, his father would die.
He said that Joseph's servants would make his father very sad and take him to the grave.
He said he had promised his father he would bring the boy.
He said if he did not bring him, he would have the blame forever.
He asked to stay with Joseph instead of the boy.
He asked Joseph to let the boy go back with his brothers.
He said he could not go to his father if the boy was not with him.
He said he did not want to see the bad thing that would come to his father.
