Listening A1: Genesis Chapter 1 - Genesis 49

Jacob called his sons and said, "Come together so I can tell you what will happen to you later."

These are the twelve tribes of Israel.

This is what their father said to them and gave them good words.

He had a special word for each son and he gave each son his own good word.

He told them, "I am going to be with my people."

"Put me with my fathers in the cave in the field of Ephron the Hittite."

"It is the cave in the field of Machpelah near Mamre in the land of Canaan."

"Abraham bought this field and cave from Ephron the Hittite for a place to bury people."

They buried Abraham and his wife Sarah there.

They buried Isaac and his wife Rebekah there.

I buried Leah there too.

This field and cave were bought from the sons of Heth.

When Jacob had finished talking to his sons, he made himself comfortable in bed.

He died and went to be with his people.
